Larry and his team were directly responsible for all aspects of the data network operation, build, maintenance, and planning. His area had over 2 million subscribers who depended on his data centers and network management to maintain their Internet connections.
    Larry always had an outstanding performance record, as he lead his team with honesty, directness and thoughtful leadership. He would request special items needed for his operations (outside of the budget process) and would always have a thorough reasoning, quality assessment, and detailed description of the need, the associated benefits or losses, and the improvements his request would offer. He did not request in excess, but did run an outstanding Regional Data Center and a quality team. His annual budget exceeded $125mm.
    Larry's team was always completely responsive, due to his quality of management. He was fair, but honest. I found Larry to have a great ability to measure his employees, and mentor and promote those who deserved, and coach and try to help those who were not performing to expectations.
    I am often asked if I would hire an individual - and my answer for Larry Webb is - yes, with no qualifiers.
    Larry and his team were responsible in the early part of this decade for the first implementation of cable Voice over IP telephone services.   • Structurally, in the late 1990’s, when Road Runner High Speed Internet was launched, Time Warner Cable, AT&T Broadband and Road Runner were three separate companies. Time Warner and AT&T Broadband provided marketing and field operations and Road Runner (a joint venture of the other two companies) provided national and regional operations and Level 3 customer service. As the VP/GM responsible for launching Road Runner for Time Warner in Southern California, one of my greatest challenges was getting an acceptable level of service and reliability from the Southern California Road Runner Regional Operations Center (ROC). The ROC served as the nerve center for two substantial companies in the second largest DMA in the country and had never operated well. Larry Webb was the third individual to run the ROC in two years. He had a lot to prove to me when he came in and he did it. Within a very short period of time (reflectively, I would say 90-120 days), Larry took the ROC from our biggest service delivery issue to an exemplary operation. QOS was no longer an issue. Service became reliable. High speeds were consistent. While some equipment was added or changed out which had an impact on the ROC’s performance, it was Larry’s management skills which made the difference. He implemented high standards and clear, crisp and effective operational procedures backed with positive leadership. He was able to develop a strategic plan for the ROC, share the vision, and move the organization to it. The ROC staff went from a well meaning but operationally mediocre group of individuals to an extremely competent team with consistently excellent execution. Attitudes and morale were high. And although Time Warner Cable was a captive customer to the Road Runner operation, Larry always interfaced with us as if we were customers with a choice. And Larry’s other customer, AT&T Broadband, was equally demanding. Their senior management was equally pleased. If I have the need and the opportunity to hire Larry for a leadership position in the future, regardless of how technical it might be, I won’t hesitate.

    We used Larry as our agent since he lives in Ladera Ranch and is familiar with the area. My wife and I needed to sell due to a promotion/job transfer to Texas.
